I am so excited to announce my new class series at the Shatford Centre - Okanagan School of the Arts in May 2015 - I know it is a little ahead in time - but it was such a blast year - I couldn't help posting once I had the confirmation:

May 14, 2015 - 11 am to 3:30 pm
Exploring Encaustic: 1 Day Hot Plate as a Palette - Painting on Wood Panel
You will learn the basics of hot plate safety, studio set up, melting wax, laying down and fusing wax layers with a heat gun.
8 students maximum $80 + $25 supply fee

May 15, 2015 - 11 am to 3:30 pm
Exploring Encaustic: Creating Texture - Painting on Wood Panel
You will learn the basics of hot plate safety, studio set up, and creating texture with encaustic through building up wax layers, incising, scraping & embedding. We will also use the stylus to create texture.
8 students maximum $80 + $25 supply fee

May 16, 2015 - 11 am to 3:30 pm
Exploring Encaustic: Mixed Media with Encaustic on Wood Panel
You will learn the basics of hot plate safety, studio set up, laying down and fusing wax layers with a heat gun. We will explore using mixed media techniques with your encaustic paintings using transfers, Pan Pastels, oil sticks, and other embellishments.
8 students maximum $80 + $25 supply fee

May 17, 2015 - 11 am to 3:30 pm
Exploring Encaustic: Monoprinting, Sponges & More on the Hotplate
You will learn the basics of hot plate safety, creating monoprints and brilliant paintings using an assortment of paper types and hot plate implements. 8 student maximum. $100 + $10 supply fee

May 18, 2015 (Victoria Day) - 11 am to 3:30 pm
Exploring Encaustic: Encaustic & Mixed Media Dream Book
We will take the basics of working with encaustic and mixed media and create lovely multi-page dream books
8 students maximum $80 + $20 supply fee

The fee for the whole week is $400 + $80 supply fee*
*Students who take the whole week get a free box of wax (your choice of Starter, Vivid or Expanding)
