Amazing!
It was wonderful news to hear that I had been selected for a scholarship for the 11th annual Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA!
This prestigious annual interdisciplinary event brings a community of artists together with gallerists, curators, critics and collectors engaged with wax, printmaking, mixed media, professional practices and more. Directed by Cherie Mittenthal and produced by Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Founded by Joanne Mattera. I am thrilled beyond words to meet so many artists working in encaustic from all over the world.
All of my painting sales over the next few months will go towards helping me get to the conference and with lodgings while I am there. I have the extremely good fortune to be rooming with the lovely Shary Bartlett for this trip. What fun :)
I will be taking a portraiture course with Lora Murphy and a mixed media printmaking class with Jeff Hirst. Click on the ball of wax to find out more about the conference. If you are planning to attend, please let me know so we can meet up there.
